Porous medium burner
The porous medium combustion burner works under the principle of combustion of a gaseous fuel occurring in contact or in the interior of a solid porous medium. When this occurs part of the energy released is transferred by radiation and conduction, to the porous medium and this at the same time, transfers it to the air-fuel premix. The previous allows attaining a combustion type known as super-adiabatic combustion, in which temperatures reached are greater to the maximum possible in a conventional combustion condition.
